Hope everybody had a wonderful holiday! We’re back to give you the rundown of what we built in Q4 with our Winter Roundup.
Here’s a quick look at some of our biggest releases from the winter:
Party Scale - Sell multiple items by weight? Now you can add a soup and a salad to the same Mashgin transaction.
Taco Tuesday - Schedule recurring discounts for specific days of the week using Creator.
Press HERE to Pay - The payment button is now bigger and more obvious.
Cashier Screen V67 - We continue to improve our cashier-side screen for retail environments, making life easier for Mashgin-empowered cashiers in dozens of ways.
Agilysys Infogenesis Integration - Fetch your existing menus from Infogenesis to populate Creator and post Mashgin sales in realtime to Infogensis.
Other Integration Crowdpleasers - New loyalty integrations for stadiums and ski resorts including Affina, Axess, and Acesso (Siriusware and Paradox).
More details below:
Weighted items can now be removed from the scale after being identified and rung up. This allows for customers to add multiple weighted items to the same transaction.
Customers simply need to place an item on the supported scale, pick it from the list that populates, and then remove it if they want a second weighted item. The first item will remain rung up as though it had been scanned as a barcode.
Creator can now apply recurring discounts to specific days of the week. Just start building a discount and tap the “Days of the Week” toggle to open the options and assign which days to apply the discount.
Mix and match with specific start and end dates or times of day to get really precise with your promos without a lot of work.
While many of our payment providers allow a “pay at any time” option, some require a user to activate the pin pad. In those situations, we’ve found placing the “Press Here to Pay” button at the bottom of the screen is a lot more intuitive, so we’re making it available to everyone.
We also added accessibility and help buttons to the top of the customer screen to make accessing those feature sets easier.
In situations where customers can pay anytime, we’ve also moved that messaging to the bottom of the screen to make room a the top for those same help and accessibility buttons.
We’re on a quest to go from the best self-checkout experience in the world to the best total checkout experience in the world. A big part of that lives on the other side of the counter with Cashiers in retail formats where they still participate in many transactions to do things like verify age for restricted products, make or grab hot food, or just help customers use Mashgin for the first time.
To that end, we’ve been focusing a lot of energy on how to make Cashier’s interactions with Mashgin as efficient and delightful as possible. Over the winter we released a ton of changes to make this experience better:
A short list of some of the improvements we made over Q4:
Many of our hospitality clients use Infogensis as a POS and have been for a long time. This integration makes it easy to keep your menus up to date across both IG and Mashgin. At the same time, Mashgin will also push sales on our kiosks directly to IG so that reporting is kept all in one place.
If you want to see specifically Mashgin transactions on Agilysys, simply filter for Mashgin as the tender when viewing transactions.
Just in time for Ski Season, we’ve added a few ski resort integrations as well as a new loyalty program for sports.
Our connection to Accesso spans both their Siriusware and Paradox products and will let pass holders or staff scan their badges to activate discounts. Using the integration is simple - customers simply tap their badge on the RFID reader (or scan it on the barcode scanner) and Mashgin will match their badge ID to the appropriate discounts for the transaction.
Resorts using Siriusware will also be able to use gift cards on Mashgin.
Ski resorts and venues that use Axess for passes and gift cards can now scan them on Mashgin for discounts and to pay.
If there’s one thing sports fans love, it’s getting points! And now at stadiums using Affina Loyalty, they can get points off the field and at the concessions stands.

Our new integration with Affina lets fans scan the QR code in their CrowdPlay App to get exclusive fan discounts and accumulate loyalty points from the transaction.
That’s it for Winter, check back in on our blog for more Mashgin updates in the future.
